Foo Fighters
The Foo Fighters have earned a spot in the rock ‘n’ roll canon. Formed in 1994 by Dave Grohl, the band has won seven Grammy Awards, including three for Best Rock Album.
With a rotating lineup of musicians (after founder Grohl, bassist Nate Mandel and Taylor Hawkins have been the longest-running players), the Foo Fighters crank out fast-paced punk-influenced hard rock, with the occasional new-school power ballad thrown in for good measure. They performed at the EMAs in 2007 and 2009, and received the MTV VMA for Best Rock Video in 2011 for ‘Walk’. Their seventh studio album, Wasting Light, was released in April 2011, and went to number one on the charts in 12 countries.
